Join our Team of Ride Leaders

We have three Options for you!

1. Ride Leader for a Day - Host a Single event

The PCC is offering every member the opportunity to be a Ride Leader for the day!

Do you have a favourite ride that you want to share or a new route that you want to explore? Well now is your chance!

We want every Rider to have the opportunity to be a ride leader!  You pick the route, the date/time, ability level and the maximum number of people you'd like on your ride. We can help with the rest!

If you are new to mapping we can help you get your route uploaded to Strava and your ride listed on the Cycle Club App

As a Ride Leader you will be responsible for keeping your group safe and having a great time out on the road.   With a little bit of training and familiarization with the Ride Leader Package you’ll be ready to share your adventure with members of wherever ability you choose.

Traditionally, the PCC schedule has been built around weekly rides but in 2025 we are aiming to nurture our adventurous spirit by adding rides that have a unique personality while filling interesting time slots in the club calendar.

We can’t wait to see what our members offer!

If you like to see your ride on the club calendar in 2025 please email us and we’ll get the wheels turning!

Yes I want to be a ride Leader for day!

Four Easy Steps to Host Your Ride

1 - Ride Details

Send us a note with your ride idea.

Just a general idea is fine and lets talk. Road, gravel, fire routes, mountain bike, ...It's all your choice! We can provide any support you may need.

2 - Ride Leader for a Day training

As Ride Leader you are responsible for the group safety. We will go over the Ride Leader guide so you can be an official ride leader for the day and we will arrange for a seasoned PCC ride leader on the ride to support you.

3 - Post the Ride in CycleClub

You pick the date and time, route and get it posted on the schedule.  Tell your friends, watch the ride to see who is signing on.

4 - Ride

Enjoy the ride and have fun with your group.

2. Ride Collectives - Medium Commitment

New for 2025 the PCC is hoping to build out a number of ride collectives. We know that the idea of taking on a weekly ride can seem overwhelming. Our new ride collectives will allow you to join with a number of like-minded riders to share the work of building a season of fun riding for you and our members.

We’re open to anything that will broaden both our weekly ride options as well as some special one-off rides that will make this season more exciting than ever.

Proposed Ride Collectives:

  • Gravel Collective
  • Women's Ride Collective
  • Endurance Collective …thinking of some big, long rides here
  • Recreation Ride Collective
  • Culinary Collective …riding around and eating food
  • Explorers Collective …organizing a small number of point-to-point shuttle rides or other explorations

Ideally, each collective (excepting Explorers and Endurance) would host one or more weekly rides as well as one or two special events throughout the season. But hey, even one a month would be welcome!

So, if you have an idea for a Collective of your own or would like to join a group of riders who just love sharing their experience please click below to start the discussion.

Yes, I am interested!

3. Ride Leader - Run your own ride

You get full say in the ride. It your choice on the road (surface, hills, etc), speed, start time, and length.

You set the culture of your ride and can create a group that loves to ride together.

Ride Leaders get a free membership for the PCC and OC (must lead > five rides in the season).

Ride Leaders are key to the PCC. Without ride leaders we have no rides, no PCC.

It is more work than just showing up for a ride; you need to select a route, start/finish time, and post it.

For a typical ride, it may take you 15-20 minutes of planning, plus you will need be at the ride 5-10 min early. So lets say it would add 20-30 mins to a ride.

Your ride frequency is up to you. Many rides are weekly and develop a nice rhythm and social environment, but the choice is yours. Plan a spring morning ride, biweekly, up to you.

We will get you ready.

If you lead a ride that fits with your riding ability, there should be no problem.

Our Ride Leader Guide and training that will bring you up to speed on how we expect our group rides to run; safe, encouraging, challenging, and most important, fun.

A key requirement is the desire or excitement to be out riding with others with a willingness/ability to give clear direction.

Let us know if you are interested. Just click the link below and we can discuss and see if it is right for you.
