05may9:30 AMPCC Spring Classic

Event Details

Time: Two ‘no-drop’ rides (Beginner and Intermediate) depart at 9:30am, Regular Competitive Ride 10:00am
Location: Mount Pleasant (easternmost end of Bland Line, near County 10)
Distance: 51km (28km paved, 12km dirt road, 11km ‘beyond’ trails and goat paths)

The PCC’s cyclocross series is bursting at the seams with action, so why not continue riding that same wonderful ‘cross bike this spring! Our 4th annual Spring Classic will cover some roads that I bet many of you have rode your bike past many times and thought… “I wonder where THAT road goes”. Now is your chance to find out. Not surprisingly, it takes you on a journey that you won’t soon forget.

28km of pavement, 12km of classic Kawartha dirt road, and 11km of pure cycling adventure leave you with 51km of great memories and one seriously filthy kit. This is not a race, though some do like to ride it quicker than others. There will be riders of almost all levels, though some basic off-road cycling skills will definitely come in handy. The route is slightly different (easier) this year, as the nastiest off-road section from last year has ben removed.

Another change for 2019 will be the addition of two no-drop options. There will be a leader and a sweep for both “no-drop” groups along the course. The two no-drop groups will be departing at 9:30am – 30 minutes before the competitive riders.

2019 PCC membership is mandatory. I’ll be bringing a dunce cap for those crazy enough to show up without one. Tools and knowledge on how to fix a flat might come in handy too.

I have a small but mighty team of volunteers that are going to help out with setting the course up the day before, and take the course down after the race. If you would like to lend a hand to this great Kawartha cycling event please let me know.
