For the 2016 season, the Peterborough Cycling Club is once again offering the Sprockids Mountain Bike Program. Sprockids is a multi-faceted instructional program designed to engage young people, ages 6 to 12 years in the life-long sport of mountain biking. We will be following a structured 8 week program that focuses on teaching skills to enable young riders to enjoy mountain biking in a fun and safe manner.

We will be riding on Monday nights starting with a kick-off night on April 25th at Nichols Oval at 6pm for introduction, bike check, and skills evaluation. We will then do 1.5 hour sessions each Monday for the following 8 weeks (except Victoria Day) with skills and instruction, games and riding in groups according to skill.

April 25th, 6pm Nichols Oval Picnic Shelter (registration night)
May 2nd, 6pm Nichols Oval
May 9th, 16th, 30th, 6pm Harold Town Conservation Area (Old Norwood Rd.)
June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, 6pm Harold Town Conservation Area

Program cost is $70 and includes Peterborough Cycling Club membership and Ontario Cycling Association insurance.

Requirements: Each participant must wear an approved bike helmet and be able to ride a mountain bike independently (no training wheels or adult assistance).

Registration: online at peterboroughcc.com. Select “Join” and “Join the PCC”. Select the option for “Sprockids”. To complete the process you will also select an “OCA Citizen Permit” for insurance. Please print the required OCA waiver for minors and bring the signed copy to the kick-off night on April 25th. Bring your kids, registration form (click), waiver, bikes, and helmets, as we will also do some riding that night. This will be a chance to meet the coaches and answer any questions you may have and to assess the skill level of participants.

We look forward to seeing you on your bikes!
