Ride out of the ordinary.

In addition to our roster of recurring rides, the PCC hosts a number of one-day ride events. Covering road, gravel and off-road, sprightly to outright hammerfests, these rides are sure to take you out of the ordinary, and put a smile on your face. Well, maybe afterwards.

PCC Spring Classic

With the PCC’s cyclocross series bursting at the seams with action, why not continue riding that same wonderful ‘cross bike this spring! Our 3rd annual Spring Classic will cover some roads that I bet many of you have rode passed and wondered… “I wonder where THAT goes?” Now is your chance to find out. Not surprisingly, it takes you on a journey you won’t soon forget.

28km of pavement, 12km of classic Kawartha dirt road, and 11km of pure cycling adventure leave you with 51km of great memories and one seriously filthy kit. While  not a race, some do like to ride it quicker than others. There will be riders of almost all levels (including a no-drop group departing at 9:30), though some basic off-road cycling skills will definitely come in handy.

The Noble Pursuit

Long rides with great friends. Staring down limits and boldly pedalling past. Turning left when all signs point right. Redefining what’s even considered a road.

Once our bicycle transcends being an accessory, it delivers us to new experiences and new landscapes. It elevates mere mortals to legends — if only for one day, one hill or a town sign sprint — and is the fodder for oft-repeated stories over post-ride bevvies. The Noble Pursuit exists to celebrate all that is great about cycling, friendship and the human spirit.

A mixed-surface ride in the range of 170km, The Noble Pursuit returns July 28 with a couple new surprises. Leaving early Sunday from the Silver Bean Café, the ride will wrap up across the river at the Ashburnham Ale House with great food and camaraderie.

Further details include:

  • The Noble Pursuit will accept up to 20 teams of 4 riders each
  • Therefore, teams must enter and finish with all 4 riders.
  • Support vehicles are verboten! There will be opportunities to re-provision en route, the rest is up to you to carry on your person or your bike.

Teams must have 3 of 4 riders possess PCC membership, while the 4th must have OCA affiliation.

And the surprises? All in good time and long miles, friends.
