In response to an incident about 500m west of Cottesloe during last Thursday night’s tempo ride:
A group of about 12 riders was passed on the right shoulder by a grey 90’s era Gm or Chev pick up in a cloud of dust and gravel.
I called the OPP on the Friday and as expected was told that without a license they could do nothing. Of course at the time we were more concerned with survival than his license plate.
The officer advised that in future we contact them as soon after the incident as possible.
I propose that club sanctioned group rides have at least one camera in them at all times. (This could also be advantageous if there comes a time when a motorist lodges a complaint about cyclists.)
