With the standard warm-up race (P2A) behind us, we can finally focus on the crown of them all – the 4th Annual PCC Spring Classic! Next Sunday, May 5th is the date.

I’ve made one change this year. We will be running two no-drop groups, as well as the competitive ride. There will be a “Beginner” and an “Intermediate” no-drop ride, but please be warned, there will be some rugged terrain to challenge riders. We will be on paved and dirt roads, as well as about 11km of ‘beyond’ trails. These trails are what separates the PCC Spring Classic from pretty much any other bike ride out there. There are some sections that are loose, rocky and muddy, all while on a hill. There are some water sections, as a spring feeds the area. There’s also going to be just a ton of mud in general.

The no-drop rides both have a leader and a sweep, and leave at 9:30am next Sunday. The competitive ride leaves at 10am. The course will have all of the corners marked, but it’s always good to familiarize yourself with the route. In this case there are going to be a lot of areas you’ve likely never rode on before, so carrying a cell phone and the appropriate tools is strongly recommended.

IMPORTANT: I’m going to be setting up the course on Saturday, and will have to take it down again on Sunday. If you’re willing to lend a hand on either one of those days please contact me. Many hands make for light work! rob [at] equinoxinteriors [dot] ca. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
